Punjab Subordinate Accounts Services-SAS

Today in this post we will discuss an exam known as Punjab Subordinate Accounts Services in short PSAS.
Only regular employees of Punjab govt. or of Boards/Corporations which are under the administrative control of the govt. can appear in this exam. Generally, this exam is conducted by the Finance department twice a year.
Any Government employee who wants to appear in this exam shall have to deposit examination fee rupees 2000/- in state Treasury under the head “0070 Other Administrative Service 60-Other Service 800-Other receipts” Departmental Examination Fee Punjab State SAS Examination and this exam fee may vary in the future.
The exam of Subordinate Accounts Services have mainly two parts that are Part-I and Part-II. To appear in Part-II one should have to qualify Part-I first, which means you cannot directly appear in Part-II. Every part that is Part-I and Part-II consists of 4 papers and every single paper is of 150 marks.
A government employee can appear in this exam number of times but the condition is that he would have to score 20% marks in each attempt to qualify for another attempt.
If any candidate scores 60% marks in any paper that is 90 marks out of 150 then an exemption will be given to him from that paper means he doesn't need to take that paper again.
Some papers of the SAS exam consist of practical questions to the extent of 75% out of 100%. For example, paper-3 of Punjab Civil Service Rules (with books) consists of 70 to 80% practical part. Another thing that you should've known is examination days are treated as duty period means you have no need to take any kind of leave to appear in the examination.
Requirements to appear in the Subordinate Accounts Services exam:-
  • Only regular government employees of Group A, Group B and Group C can take this exam.
  • An employee must have a graduation degree from a recognized university.
  • An employee must have 3 years of regular government service.
